History
In the winter of 1891 at Springfield
College in Massachusetts, Dr. James
Naismith invented an indoor sport
to keep students active when it was
too cold to play outside. Originally
played between elevated peach baskets
placed on opposite ends of a court,
basketball has evolved to become one
of the most popular sports in the
United States.
Object of the Game
The object of basketball is to outscore
the opposition by putting the ball
through the opponents basket.
